Senator Blue to Host Garner Town Meeting

SENATOR DAN BLUE TO HOST GARNER TOWN HALL MEETING

Blue will give residents an opportunity to share their concerns prior to legislative session

Senator Dan Blue is hosting a town hall meeting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 17 at the Garner Senior Center, 205 East Garner Road, Garner, NC 27529. Senator Blue encourages members of the local community to attend and engage in a conversation on the goals and priorities of the state government in 2012.

“As we return back into formal session, it is important that we work hard solving the challenges facing North Carolina,” said Blue. “Creating jobs and funding our schools continue to be my top priorities. These are unequivocally the most pressing issues across our district. We also have to focus on providing affordable and accessible health care and cracking down on gangs, drugs, and violence within our communities.”

Blue knows Wake County parents and teachers have many concerns, particularly about education policy and funding. He hopes to hear from them to help shape policy for our State.

Senator Blue currently serves on the following committees: Appropriations/Base Budget, Appropriations on General Government and Information Technology, Commerce, Judiciary II, and Rules and Operations of the Senate.

The event will be at Garner Senior Center at 205 East Garner Road, Garner, NC 27529.
